9 wires D2Pro : Clarification

9 wires vs 15 wires

With the arrival of a version in 9 wires of the D2Pro™ modchip, it seems necessary to us to make a clarification on the assets and weaknesses of this new version.

Indeed, by reducing the numbers of points to be welded, the manufacturer plays on the wave of the technical accessibility of the fitting at properly spoken : With only 3 wire to be welded directly onto chipset D2C compared with 13 wires necessary in its previous version, D2Pro™ is thus more "easy" to assemble.
Moreover, the famous SPI Flash is built in from now directly on the PCB in order to allow future possible updates of the modchip via the D2Prog™ programmerand or via DVD.
Less wires to be welded, integrated SPI Flash for updates… all seems to succeed with this version in 9 wires, except that…

According to the manufacturer, 9 wires version is vulnerable vis-a-vis coming game protections (like its rivals) and comes to bring just an alternative to the installation D2Pro in 15/19 wires.
Indeed, by carrying out a fitting in 9 wires you will save surely a little time and sweat but you will have without-doubt to have to update the chip occasionally.
If you like the do-it-yourselfing, the 9 wires solution will give you access to evolutionary updates (like WiiKey™) with setting menu of the modchip !

What it is necessary to know it is that the 9 wires version is always reversible in 15 wires, the manufacturer having left this possibility conscious of the compatibility issues to come in the event of new protections.

Also, at Infinitydream, we let to you the choice of the version after you have informed of these differences.
With an aim of bringing the best possible solution to you, we propose to you an 19 wires installation without extra cost if your drive allows it.
Associated with FlexPCB™, you will obtain a permanent modification solution for your Wii™ console.
